Tax Analyst I - Tax Engine

We are looking for smart, passionate individuals to join our Global Tax Calculation Services team supporting the product tax classification function. The Global Tax Calculation Services team is responsible for providing end-to-end global tax calculation services to Amazon and thousands of merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces and other e-commerce platforms. This person will assist with the classification of billions of products, in multiple languages, for transaction tax purposes. As a PCS Specialist on the Tax Engine team, the individual will have the opportunity to improve the customer experience by contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the tax classification function.

Responsibilities
· Perform product tax classifications and participate in ongoing audit activities
· Perform basic product taxability research across a wide range of categories
· Expand and refine data retrieval techniques
· Utilize extensive product catalog attributes and other data to ensure products are classified properly for indirect tax purposes
· Apply taxonomies and other classification structures while supporting the product tax classification function
· Participate in team operational excellence programs and process improvements
· Create training data supporting Machine Learning initiatives for product tax classification

· Maintain metrics and reporting for measuring process improvement
Base pay for this position starts from EUR 1,567 gross per month and salary depends on the skills and requirements, there will be further pay components such as a sign on bonus and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. · Proficiency in reading English, Spanish or Italian
· 1+ year of corporate experience

· Bachelor’s degree
· Experience working in a product classification function
· Proven ability to work and deliver effectively in customer-focused, cross-functional teams
· Proficiency at querying relational databases and ability to pull data from multiple sources
· Excellent communication (written and oral in English) and interpersonal skills
· Strong analytical skills
· Experience working in environments with aggressive deadlines and production environments

· Detail oriented, highly organized, decisive, and self-motivated
