Amazon introduced the first Kindle in 2007, which offered 90,000 e-books on one device. It sold out 5.5 hours after the launch announcement. Since then, we have greatly expanded both our device range and our content selection to create the best-selling e-reader family in the world. But there’s still more to be done as we work toward our goal of making every book ever written available in any language to our customers, and we need your help to do it.
To help us achieve this objective, we are looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager to join our EU Kindle Content team in Milan or Madrid. The person in this role will own Amazon’s technical relationships with Spanish and Italian language publishers and ensure the seamless flow of e-book content and metadata throughout our digital supply chain to end consumers.
The Technical Account Manager is responsible for building strong working relationships with Spanish and Italian publishers and global Amazon stakeholders in content acquisition, product management, engineering, and operations. This role is responsible for coming up with creative, technology-driven solutions to solve complex problems and optimize global business processes. Technical Account Managers define and implement best practices as they work with publishers to solve issues around digital content creation, ingestion and file formats. The successful candidate is tech savvy, a strong self-starter, thrives in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment, demonstrates an ability to solve technical challenges with innovative solutions, and is able to credibly coordinate between teams of technical resources and business stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities:
· Maintain ongoing relationships with Spanish and Italian publishers and conversion houses, focusing on technical processes such as data transmission, cover images, metadata (XML/Onix), digital file formats, and content ingestion portals specific to Amazon
· Collaborate with digital content providers to stay on top of new content deliveries, manage changes in specs, and drive the resolution of problems related to ingestion and reporting
· Manage projects that leverage automation and technology to improve the efficiency of the global Kindle business and enhance our ability to serve our customers
· Consistently improve the Kindle customer experience by delivering superior publisher support
Experience and skills required
· 2-5+ years of relevant experience as a Technical Account Manager/Technical Support Manager
· Bachelor/Master Degree
· Spanish, English and Italian languages are required for the role
· Relevant experience in managing relationships with cross-functional teams, programs, and products
· Strong creative and analytical problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership; a self-starter
· Proficiency in data extraction and analysis using SQL and Excel
· Familiarity with web technologies used in e-book content production: HTML, CSS, XML
· Familiarity with digital media distribution and ebook formats
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Fluency in English (and Spanish)
Preferred qualifications
· Hands-on experience in product development or project management
· Strong experience with programming or scripting basics (e.g., Shell, VBA Scripts, Perl, Python)
