Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a creative, self-motivated, high-judgment, well-connected, and experienced public relations professional to drive its communications program in Spain and Portugal. This includes the launch process of new AWS services, features, programs, regions, and partnerships in a way that maximizes positive coverage and awareness.

The right candidate possesses extensive media relations skills (traditional and digital) and is an expert at writing. The Iberia PR Manager also has strong skills in developing and placing proactive stories, excels at translating complex technology concepts into broadly digestible stories, has familiarity with crisis communications, can exercise high-judgment while acting quickly, and is comfortable working with senior executives.

An AWS PR Manager in EMEA partners with regional AWS leaders and AWS global PR/AR team to discuss and develop messaging, communication strategy and plans, and is an integral member of Amazon’s communications team. The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into technology and is motivated by a highly creative and dynamic culture where the challenge of breaking new ground and redefining best practices is welcome and where willingness to act and do is encouraged. In this role, the candidate will have an opportunity to create and innovate new and interesting announcement plans and programs that are worthy of a company that continues to pioneer the cloud. The candidate must also have issues management experience and be comfortable communicating with the media on issues that can impact AWS’ reputation.

This role is based in Madrid, Spain and will require travel.

Part of your professional challenges will be:
· Enhance AWS news and media relations activities and proactive campaigns
· Innovate launch processes that align with a dynamic, pioneering cloud business
· Develop stories with customers and partners about their journey to the AWS Cloud
· Manage news-related business & technology press opportunities
· Ensure factually accurate representation of AWS and AWS services in press
· Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism
· Write and edit press releases, blogs, pitches, and communications plans
· Regularly interact with senior leadership to develop and communicate AWS’s top stories and strategic messages
· Work cross-functionally to plan and execute PR campaigns
· Align social media activities with EMEA marketing
· Develop and successfully manage relationships with key media and technology influencers
· Lead launch events
· Manage PR agencies

· Minimum of seven years of public relations experience
· Excellent written and oral communications skills
