Responsibilities

Delivery of the Digital Platform for Airbus DS as a 100% private cloud in their physical DC in Germany.

System Engineer IaaS (VDI) is responsible for daily operation of IaaS environment based on Citrix and Microsoft technologies and performs technical tasks according to mandatory guidelines and processes, such as Incident Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Problem Management, Event Management, Request Fulfillment and Change Management.
IaaS environment operation includes task and activities such as:
- operation of the systems to ensure a stable operation all the time (e.g., as MoD and on-call duty)
- L2/L3 level technical support and tickets handling
- resolving incidents including: analyze failure and its potential impact, perform diagnosis, develop & test temporary “work around”, resolve issues,
- handling request and changes, including: execute request,
- monitor and diagnose events, support capacity and continuity planning
- keeping up to date relevant tooling records and databases (e.g. CMDB, KB)
- execution of scheduled operation tasks, e.g. diagnostic, configuration change
- adaptation / optimization of the used Administration-Tools
Additional information:
- work as part of ring-fenced and multi-skilled team providing service for Airbus DS on customer location
- sub-domain ownership and autonomy

Technical Skills
- expert knowledge in Citrix XenServer & Desktop, Citrix Provisioning Services, StoreFront
- extensive knowledge in server operating system MS Windows 2008 R2 and higher
- extensive knowledge Microsoft Active Directory + ADFS
- advanced knowledge in programing and scripting languages (e.g. Powershell, Perl, Python, …)
- advanced knowledge in the areas of Storage & Backup, TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN, Client/Server, Monitoring
- advanced knowledge in Hardware on X86/X64-based (RAID, LAN, etc. ) e.g. HPE Apollo Hardware
- knowledge in Azure Stack, Azure, Hyper-V
- knowledge in RedHat Enterprise Linux
- method competency (e.g. ITIL, ISO9001, IS rules, DevOps concept, Agile, Scrum)
