EU Design Project Manager - Senior Architect (role based in Luxembourg) en Madrid

The role will be based in Luxembourg and will include frequent travel.

Responsibilities:
· Support a team that is creating new, efficient and economical standard building programs and designs across geographies where Amazon operates.
· Coordinate and collaborate with a wide variety of internal operations, design and engineering stakeholders to increase the efficiency of the programming and design process
· Facilitate cross-discipline workshops to drive clarity and decision making.
· Model excellence in design input gathering, partner collaboration and stakeholder alignment
· Manage third party architects, engineers and designers responsible for creating the specific programs and templates
· Present and facilitate strategic design discussions to top-level executives
· Coordinate workshops that drive alignment on key issues, design practices, new building designs and initiatives with the focus being reducing the cost of construction and maintenance while enhancing associate experience and operational efficiencyLead Technical Design Reviews
· Provide project support on new fulfillment network buildings and additional capacity requirements around the globe
· Support test fit and associated due diligence oversight
· Ensure site and building design align with operations and processing requirements and equipment
· Drive Regional adaption and compliance of worldwide standards with regional design managers
· Support the development of strategic prototypical building solutions which meet or exceed our quality requirements and drive value engineering and standardization across all aspects of the facility
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes while reducing the jurisdictional impact on Amazon’s operation
· Provide technical direction within engineering design / AutoCAD, building design, layouts, build details, schedules and materials
· Collaborate with the Procurement Team to support on negotiated contracts with vendors and present formal documentation for approval when required

Basic qualifications
· Completed Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or comparable field
· 5+ years of experience as an architect, engineer or construction manager
· Project Management experience from design phase through implementation and operation
· Ability to lead and manage a team, including, coaching and disciplinary actions, as needed

Preferred qualifications

· Master’s degree in Architecture, engineering or construction management
· Ability to effectively communicate Amazon requirements to various audiences (e.g. senior management, peers, public officials, etc.)
