Sr. Applied Scientist en Barcelona

Amazon is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Senior Applied Scientist with a strong machine learning and search background to join the Search Science team in Barcelona (Spain).

You will work with the largest online retail search application in the world, both in terms of users, catalogue size, and computing resources, and your work will directly impact millions of our customers. As a Senior part of our Search team, you will work alongside internationally recognized experts in science and engineering to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state-of-the-art in search and natural language processing. You will be expected to collaborate with the Core AI group in Barcelona, other groups at Amazon (AWS, Alexa, Music and others) and with top researchers in academia. Finally, you will be responsible for providing leadership and mentorship to others within the Amazon Search team.

· A PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics, Data Mining, Information Retrieval, or related field (alternatively, 5 years in scientist role)
· 5+ years applied research experience
· 3+ years applied research experience in search or related areas

· industrial research and tech-transfer
· search experimentation, evaluation, A/B testing
· statistical data analysis
· distributed programming
· software development
· very large scale data processing
· very large scale ML
