Job description

The role:

Under the supervision of the Product Assurance and Reliability Engineering team, and with progressively increasing autonomy, support space projects for customers such as ESA and CNES.

• Hardware (HW): Support functional analysis and system decomposition; prepare and maintain FMEA/FMECA, FTA, and RBD analyses; collect failure-rate data and contribute to reliability, availability, MTBF, and maintainability predictions.
• Software (SW): Support criticality classification, traceability, architecture and design reviews, failure mode analysis, verification activities, defect tracking, and coverage and maturity metrics, in accordance with ECSS-Q-ST-80 where applicable.
• System Level: Contribute to reliability analyses, interface analyses, and common-cause failure assessments, while maintaining assumptions, models, traceability, and evidence of RAMS compliance.
• Review documentation, configuration records, and logs; track non-conformities, actions, risks, and deviations; support design reviews, audits, and performance indicators.
• Internal Testing: Collaborate with engineering teams in the preparation and execution of internal system tests; verify configurations and procedures, ensure requirement-to-test-to-result traceability, record evidence, analyse anomalies, and verify corrective actions and re-testing results.

Exigences:

Your profile:

Required:

• Final-year undergraduate or masters student in a relevant engineering discipline, with the ability to formalise an internship agreement for the full duration of the placement.
• Interest in Product Assurance, RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety), and space HW/SW systems.
• Basic knowledge of probability, statistics, systems architecture, and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, document control skills, initiative, communication skills, and the ability to work in international teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with ECSS-Q-ST-30/40/80 standards, FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RBD, MTBF, and maintainability analysis.
• Understanding of the software lifecycle, testing, CI/CD, static analysis, defect management, and configuration management.
• Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Python and RAMS tools would be an asset.
