Production Supervisor - Natural Colors

As a Production Supervisor - Natural Colors, you will be responsible for controlling, programming and supervising the necessary operations, material and human resources, applying production plans, quality, food safety


We are looking for a person with deep knowledge on natural color processes and equipment, plus good understanding of natural colors formulations and pigments behaviour to smoothly support in processing challenges.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Supervise daily production activities to ensure adherence to the production schedule and established work methods.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable health, safety, food safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Train and support production operators in machine operation, format changes, and basic preventive maintenance of machinery and facilities.
  • Operate reactors, monitoring and controlling key process variables as required.
  • Coordinate and oversee sampling activities in accordance with established procedures at each stage of the production process.
  • Identify and report occupational health, safety, and environmental risks associated with equipment and production activities, following established procedures.
  • Complete production documentation and process reports accurately, ensuring alignment with process monitoring requirements.
  • Identify maintenance needs and coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure timely intervention.
  • Identify electrical and electronic components of machinery and automated production lines to support troubleshooting and effective operation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality, safety, and operational performance.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and motivate production operators, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to production objectives.
  • Verify production line readiness before the start of each production run.
  • Ensure Clean-in-Place (CIP) procedures are carried out correctly and documented as required.
  • Follow and apply food safety management standards and company procedures.
  • Contribute to improvement projects involving production equipment, lines, infrastructure, and utilities, supporting implementation and start-up activities.
  • Support the commissioning and validation of new machinery, equipment, and production facilities.
  • Participate as a member of the HACCP Team and the Food Defense Emergency Team.



Knowledge and Skills

  • Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Good command of English.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar supervisory role within a comparable manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, preferably involving natural colours, food ingredients, flavours, or edible oils.
  • Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
  • Knowledge of natural colour formulations and processing technologies, such as high-pressure homogenisers, bead mills, and spray dryers, would be an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of production machinery, manufacturing processes, and production lines.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple activities effectively.
  • Hands-on approach, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to unexpected situations.
