AREA DESCRIPTION
Singular Projects team of UX-BU is a new unit of BX Design Area that encourages innovation, creativity, passion, and teamwork.
At BX Design we’re a close-knit bunch that enjoys problem-solving and collaboration, and we share a serious commitment to delivering the best possible digital services and experiences inside the Telefonica ecosystem.
MISSION
As member of the UX-BU Design team, serve as Senior UX Research or Service Designer on project engagements for singular projects, translating business needs into effective and attractive solutions that balance business goals, and technological requirements across platforms, with the focus on our customers and users needs (UCD).
As important part of UX-BU Design team, you will create tools and web app products, data visualizations, documentation, testing, research or other support materials that help to provide the best insights to our clients.
In collaboration with visual designers, product management, development, marketing, and other team members, participates in the entire life cycle of product development.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES
- Conduct effective research, user testing and stakeholder interviews, analytics assessment, and heuristic analysis to inform design decisions.
- Ability to make successful strategic and tactical Design System Ecosystem based on usability findings, our recent works and standard design practices.
- Collaborate as a member of an BX team to realize the company vision.
- Create and document complex site/application information, user flows, interaction designs and functional prototypes.
- Must play the role that drives and inspire each phase of the product, leading if necessary changes or justifying with data and analysis the virtues of each proposal, providing documentation, clear and accurate to designers and developers (document detailed how, why, what or when must be the final design solutions).
- Facilitate and conduct UX & UI design workshops as internal education (evangelist role)
- Work with our internal team to continually refine and evolve our User Experience process. Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify new opportunities for research and impact
- Report, follow up and closure of projects and issues to your managers.
NATURE OF PROBLEMS & CHALLENGES
We are starting a new project from scratch so your goals should be:
- Benchmarking: Define what is happening around us: Understanding the context frames the next opportunities in your existing product. about latest in competitors, technology and customers expectations
- Detection: What do people need? Observing behaviors and using our intuition, research informs and your knowledge and experience
- Proposal: What can we make that will help?
- Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation (RITE) method to quickly sense problem areas.
- Evaluate & Iterate: Does our solution really work? Conversion flows help measure if people move from an initial download to a continual use of the solution.
- Measure: What is the impact of this solution? Does it help improve our user’s experience, our product or our business?
- Viability: It determines how worthwhile this solution is from a financial, customer and product perspective.
- Conclusion: how we can build better experiences
EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Professional Degree in UX, research, communications, digital design or equivalent
- Master Degree in UX Design or equivalent
- Master degree in Graphic Design, Motion graphics, Interaction design, HTML 5, CSS or Front End development (not mandatory)
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of practice leading research projects in agile product environments, with expertise across a variety of methodologies
- Experience working directly with design, product, engineering, and business teams, to gather study requirements and present findings
- Familiarity with both B2B and B2C products, as we do research across both for Business
- Mixture of experience working in large global corporations and start-ups
- Comfort working with remote teams
- BS in Human-computer interaction, human factors, cognitive psychology, sociology, anthropology, or related field.
- MS or PhD a plus
CAPABILITIES
- It is essential that you have four or more years working as Service Designer or Researcher experience and -at least- two as UX Designer or master degree in UX Design.
- Working experience in an Agile or Lean Team.
- Good design-sensibility.
- Proficiency in testing and prototyping tools and development technologies including accessibility.
- You should make sure to explore the user's behavior and motivations, not lose focus of product and suggest improvements when necessary (written, oral, visual, interaction ...) so that the products are more intuitive, usable, fun, accessible and in as much as possible unique.
- UX portfolio with process clearly outline, communicated, and defined.
- Experience working with product and marketing teams.
- Strong presentation, advocacy and communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Organized and methodological. Creative with a solutions-oriented focus. With ability to lead and "find" relevant questions from the point of view of the user and business.
- Familiar with collaborating teams as agencies or consultancy.
TECH SKILLS & KNOW HOW
- Operating systems (OSX, Windows)
- Mobile platforms (iOS, Android, Windows Phone)
- CSS basics or HTML 5
- Knowledge of UserTesting o UserZoom or similar tester and analytics tools
- Other tools: Guerrilla Testing, Card sorting, Usability Hub, Heatmaps, Personas, Map journeys…
- Broad UX, research, and strategy toolkit: design thinking and facilitation, service design perspective, lean UX, research frameworks, visual mapping and modeling
- Managing people (helping them learn, grow, and succeed)
- Helping teams navigate the end-to-end design and development process with evidence-based insight from real-world behavior
- Strong conceptual intuition: identifying the core concepts of a problem or opportunity, guiding teams and individuals to focus on what matters
- Curiosity: a passion for all kinds of learning, teaching, and sharing
