The international project Model Bank is multi-cultural and cross-business, and is developing a borderless, scalable, retail platform uniting Spain, Italy, France, Czech Republic and Austria.
We offer the position DevOps Expert within the Infrastructure department for the Model Bank project in Madrid.

Model Bank in collaboration with the MB countries (Spain, Italy, France and Czech Republic) aims to deliver:

• A retail harmonized digital platform (with 60% to 90% harmonisation), fully focused on supporting the MB countries in increasing customer interaction, improving customer satisfaction and increasing sales
• A scalable platform which can be extended to on-board additional countries, products and services in future
• An agile, central IT shared service center that can develop, maintain and run digital requirements going forward
• A high level of standardization and centralization across systems, processes, data and way of working aligned with Enterprise Architecture, Global Process Management, Global Data Management and Bank Infra

She/He will collaborate of the definition, implementation, evolution, and governance not only for the current environments but also for the release process and deployment standards that enables Model Bank towards a Company more agile, sustainable and being a step ahead of current and future needs and challenges following ING group standards and policies.

In parallel he/she will be responsible facilitating the on-boarding of the different squads in Model Bank, cleaning the possible obstacles that, from an environments stand point of view, could prevent them to deliver value in ModelBank´s context.

This facilitating role includes managing and coordinating different operational tasks that any Squad or Unit may need in some environment (not for production or live environments).

He/She will report to the Environments support lead.

Main functions and responsibilities

Design, coordinate and implement the release processes for different application components, including front, middle, back applications, as well as third parties and common components, considering the Model Bank´s requirements, accordingly to ING group strategies, principles and standards.

Research, evaluate and introduce the technologies and solutions that best fit and solve both business and development needs, analysing their impact in current and future architectures.

Define standards, norms and guidelines and ensure their proper documentation, communication and fulfillment using governance processes.

Collaborate with the rest of worldwide ING business units in the definition and implementation of the pieces of the reference development stack.

Identify and remediate those gaps that may exit for a given unit to on-board Model Bank´s services.

Collaborate on  the on boarding process from an infrastructure stand point, acquiring a facilitator role, in order to asses developers.

Keep contact with his/her correspondent key players on the local team.

Field and level of qualification

• Minimum requirement is a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or other related bachelors
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years defining, developing and setting up systems/parts of infrastructure architectures in complex corporate environments

Specific technical knowledge and skills

• Proven architecture skills, appreciated knowledge in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF

• Knowledge and experience on one or more of the following technologies:

1. Strong knowledge on Continuous Delivery concepts, processes and methods
2. Strong knowledge of Middleware and messaging systems, ESBs. Platforms like Apache, tomcat, JBoss, WSO2, Apigee, TIBCO, RabbitMQ, etc.
3. Knowledge of Virtualization and cloud environments.
4. Knowledge of physical and virtual networking.
5. Knowledge of storage technologies
6. Strong knowledge on containerization and component deployment frameworks.
7. Build and deployment of services to both private and public clouds

• Experience in development, in order to be able to consider developers day to day constraints and problems

• Communication skills being able to transmit complex concepts in a easy way adapted to IT and business partners

• Knowledge on Agile frameworks, team working and leadership skills

• Decision making considering costs, impact and potential benefits

• Strong knowledge of the big cloud vendors AWS, Azure, Google Cloud

• Strong knowledge on Ansible, Puppet, Cheff

• Availability to travel
