Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Barcelona area (2 days per week On-Site with 3 days Remote)

LOA: 6-9 months initially with potential Extensions – Ideally candidates must be open to becoming a Permanent Employee after this period


Title: CMDB Process Owner & ServiceNow CMDB Manager


We are seeking an experienced CMDB Process Owner & ServiceNow CMDB Manager to lead the implementation, and continuous improvement of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and related processes.

This role is critical to establishing a reliable, high-quality CMDB that enables effective IT Service Management, supports operational excellence, and drives data-informed decision-making across the organization.


The successful candidate will combine strong process ownership capabilities with hands-on ServiceNow CMDB expertise, acting as a bridge between technical teams and ITSM governance.


Key Responsibilities

Process Ownership & Governance

• Define, implement, and own the Configuration Management process aligned with ITIL best practices

• Establish policies, standards, and procedures for CMDB governance

• Define and maintain CI classes, attributes, and relationship models

• Ensure alignment with Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes

CMDB Strategy & Roadmap

• Execute a phased CMDB roadmap and maturity model

• Define scope and priorities for CMDB data and services

• Drive adoption and value realization across IT and business stakeholders

• Continuously assess and improve CMDB capabilities

ServiceNow CMDB Management

• Configure and optimize CMDB within ServiceNow

• Manage and enhance Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations

• Collaborate with platform teams on enhancements and releases

• Ensure adherence to best practices, including CSDM where applicable

Data Quality & Governance

• Define and track CMDB health KPIs (completeness, accuracy, timeliness)

• Establish data ownership and stewardship models

• Conduct regular audits and lead data remediation initiatives

• Implement automation to improve data quality and consistency

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the central point of contact for all CMDB-related topics

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud, and security teams

• Drive accountability for CI ownership across the organization

• Provide training, guidance, and communication to stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to enhance CMDB usage and value

• Promote CMDB-driven use cases (e.g., impact analysis, reporting, automation)

• Introduce automation and innovation where appropriate

• Benchmark against industry standards and best practices

Required Qualifications

✔ Experience

• Proven experience in Configuration Management and CMDB implementation

• Strong background in IT Service Management (ITSM) environments

• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB

✔ Technical Expertise

• Experience with:

ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping

CI data modeling and relationship design

Integrations and data ingestion from multiple sources

• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud, applications)

✔ Process & Governance

• Deep understanding of ITIL-based Configuration Management

• Experience defining governance frameworks and data quality standards

• Familiarity with CMDB maturity models and best practices

✔ Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

• Ability to drive accountability without direct authority

• Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)

• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset

✔ Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow certifications

• Experience with Common Service Data Model (CSDM)

• Experience in large-scale CMDB transformation initiatives

• Background in consulting or complex enterprise environments

“Hands-On” ServiceNow CMDB experience

Good Attitude / Strong Communication skills
