Third Party Data Steward

Descripción del empleo

Third-Party Data Steward

We are supporting a global life sciences organisation undergoing a strategic transformation in how it sources, structures, and manages external data assets.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Third-Party Data Steward to play a key role in the operational management of external data vendors and datasets, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and effective use of third-party data across the business.

This is a highly collaborative role, acting as the interface between data providers, internal stakeholders, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Third-Party Data & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external data providers (e.g. IQVIA, Veeva, Clarivate, Flatiron)
  • Act as the key point of coordination between vendors and internal teams
  • Support ongoing vendor interactions including issue resolution, updates, and training coordination
  • Ensure effective communication across analytics, data operations, and vendor stakeholders

Data Acquisition, Onboarding & Lifecycle Management

  • Support operational onboarding of external datasets into internal systems
  • Maintain transparency and documentation of third-party data assets (e.g. Data catalogues)
  • Coordinate data lifecycle activities, including updates and enhancements
  • Work closely with data governance teams on data quality and consistency

Contract & Data Usage Management

  • Review and interpret data contracts and licensing terms
  • Identify and communicate usage constraints or restrictions on datasets
  • Support creation of third-party data agreements in collaboration with legal and procurement teams
  • Ensure data usage aligns with contractual and regulatory expectations.

Data Portfolio Support & Use Case Alignment

  • Partner with analytics and business teams to:
  • Identify suitable datasets for specific use cases
  • Shortlist relevant third-party data sources
  • Conduct market research on available external datasets
  • Analyse existing data assets to identify overlaps and optimisation opportunities
  • Support documentation and visibility of available datasets across the organisation

Required Experience & Skills

Essential

  • 3+ years’ experience in third-party data management / external data operations
  • Proven experience working with life sciences data providers (e.g. IQVIA, Veeva, Clarivate)
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience across:
  • Business teams
  • Legal / procurement
  • Data / technical teams
  • Experience reviewing data contracts, licensing terms, and data documentation
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Data structures and how data is used in organisations
  • Data onboarding and lifecycle processes
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across international teams.

Desirable / Nice to Have

  • Exposure to data governance frameworks or data cataloguing (e.g. Collibra)
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or modern data platforms (for stakeholder communication, not hands-on development)
  • Awareness of data protection and compliance considerations in data usage
  • Experience working in global or matrix organisations

Profile & Competencies

  • Strong organisational and operational mindset
  • High attention to detail, particularly when working with contracts and data assets
  • Confident working in a cross-functional, highly collaborative environment
  • Able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a changing environment

Location & Working Model

  • Ideally based in Spain (due to data licensing and operational requirements)
  • Alternative setups in nearby European locations may be considered
  • Initial contract duration to end of 2026, with strong likelihood of extension

Why This Role?

  • Opportunity to shape a global approach to external data management
  • Work at the centre of a highly strategic data transformation initiative
  • Exposure to leading life sciences data ecosystems and vendors
  • Strong growth potential as the organisation evolves its data capabilities
