At Faes Farma, where we combine passion, science and innovation to transform people's health, we want to incorporate a Research Scientist in Purification Unit

We are looking to incorporate into our R+D team, in the Drug Discovery area, a person who contributes to the development of new compounds through the purification and characterization of molecules in highly automated environments.

What will your mission be?

You will be integrated into the purification unit, being responsible for ensuring that compounds with the required purity levels are obtained, contributing to the advancement of research projects.

Main responsibilities

• Perform purification of organic compounds using preparative HPLC and mass-directed systems.
• Develop and optimize purification methods based on the chemical properties of the compounds.
• Select appropriate columns, moving phases, and gradients for each process.
• Execute manual and automated workflows within the lab pipeline.
• Analyze the purity of compounds using UPLC and LC-MS.
• Interpret chromatograms and select fractions for combination.
• Record analytical results in data management systems (LIMS, ELN).
• Operate equipment (Agilent, Waters) and associated software (OpenLab, MaxLims, or others).
• Perform basic maintenance, calibrations, and initial resolution of incidents.
• Collaborate with synthetic chemistry, analytics, and automation teams.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of purification processes and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in the laboratory.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related areas.
• Master's Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Therapeutic Chemistry or other related fields is an asset.
• Minimum experience of 1 year in:

Purification of compounds by means of preparative HPLC.

Automated purification environments (high-throughput).

Use of Agilent and Waters equipment.

Management of software such as OpenLab, MaxLims or equivalent LIMS systems.

• High level of English for scientific-technical environment.
