Area description:

The role of Video Technology within Telefónica Global CTIO is to provide solutions for Telefonica OBs for deploying video technology for a successful video operation.
Do you want to be part of a team that is responsible for helping to turn Telefónica into a video company? We’re looking for a Technological Expert to help us on this mission. 

Mission:

Lead the MW developments to create new services and integrate new set-top boxes into the Telefonica video ecosystem, either migrating them from legacy solutions, or incorporating new technology and suppliers.

Main responsabilities:

Lead software components development for embedded systems (Set-top boxes).
• Coordinate middleware integration activities in Set-top boxes.
• Lead the migration of legacy mw systems towards Telefonica OpenMW
• Lead a specification and vendor-driven development of AndroidTV STB for hybrid broadcast (DTH/Cable). 
• Support project management activities (plan preparation and follow-up).
• Lead software issues diagnosis and resolution.
• Support the hardware specification and test plan definition used on hardware approval.
• Support middleware architecture definition and strategy on software development. 
• Partnership relationships in video technologies.
• Lead technical team in activities along software lifecycle for Set-top boxes.

Education Required:

Master Degree on Telecom Engineer, Computer Science or similar

Technical Knowledge:

Experience programming in C/C++ language for GNU/Linux environments.
• Experience working in video streaming technologies.
• Knowledge of Gentoo's package creation, build system, debug tools and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Git control version.
• Good knowledge of IPTV and Broadcast (DTH and CATV) technologies.
• Long experience with Digital TV (IPTV, DVB, CAS/DRM).
• Experience in building and maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment strategies in different environments (dev, integration, production, etc). 
• Knowledge of Jenkins. Experience defining a strategy for automated testing.
• Experience in Agile methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of hardware architecture for STB.
• Nice to have: experience on Qt library, in special with QML language.
• Nice to have: knowledge in Dolby technologies. 

Professional Experience:

 More than 10 years of experience as SW engineer / architect in Video Technologies and embedded systems.
• Have experience with at least one Telco company operating video business.

Languages:

Fluent in Spanish and English, Nice to have: Portuguese.
