My client is the air transport industry's IT provider, delivering solutions for airlines, airports, aircraft, and governments. Their technology powers more seamless, safe, and sustainable air travel. They are looking to hire an experienced Business Analyst to support a Data Governance Implementation Project.

About the Role

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst – Data Governance Implementation will play a key role in establishing and operationalizing data governance capabilities across the organization.

This role partners with data owners, data stewards, IS teams, finance and business stakeholders to analyse current data processes, define governance requirements, support the implementation of data standards, and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with experience in data management, process design, and stakeholder facilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance Program Support

• Support the rollout of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards. • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models. • Assist in establishing data quality processes, controls, and monitoring mechanisms.

Business Requirements & Process Analysis

• Conduct structured requirements gathering for data governance tools, workflows, and processes. • Map current-state vs. Target-state data processes and identify gaps.

• Translate business needs into functional specifications for master data and data governance platforms (e.g., Dataedo, Collibra, Informatica, Alation).

Data Quality & Metadata Management

• Identify critical data elements (CDEs) and define associated metadata and quality rules.

• Support profiling, cleansing, and remediation activities in collaboration with data stewards.

• Document and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, and lineage information.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and decision-making sessions with data owners and SMEs.

• Drive awareness and adoption of data governance practices through training, communication, and user support.

Tool & Platform Implementation

• Contribute to the configuration and onboarding of data governance tools.

• Validate technical solutions against business requirements, performing functional testing and UAT as needed.

• Help design dashboards and reports for data quality, compliance, and governance KPIs.

What we are looking for

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.

• Hands-on experience with data governance concepts (data quality, metadata, stewardship, lineage).

• Strong skills in process mapping, business requirements documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

• Working knowledge of SQL, data modelling, and data profiling tools (a plus).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with enterprise data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).

• Familiarity with data management frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).

• Background in regulatory/ compliance-driven environments (GDPR, BCBS239, HIPAA, etc.).

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data topics.
