Your role and work environment:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior VP-Transaction Services Sales Cash Consultant Iberia with strong Payment and Cash management background to join our Transaction Services (TS) Team of Wholesale Banking Spain & Portugal.

The team works with large corporates to offer TS solutions for the Bank: Payments & Cash Management (PCM), Liquidity Solutions/Bank Mendes Gans (BMG) and Trade (Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions)

Your key responsibilities:

As a Transaction Services Sales Cash Consultant Iberia, you will be responsible for growing the Daily Banking business and increasing profitability through the origination of new TS mandates within the Wholesale Banking (WB) client portfolio in Spain and Portugal.

An energetic individual with drive and thorough understanding of the TS products & solutions and Treasury operations, owning and managing prospect deals until signing of the mandate.

The TS Sales Cash Consultant sells the full suite of Cash solutions across the network (both PCM and Liquidity management/BMG)

Key responsibilities and activities:

Positively contribute to Origination and Business development:

  • generates new TS share of wallet deals with existing clients as well as with new clients across different sectors, both locally and through ING´s network
  • delivers on challenging but specific revenue targets and client profitability within the ING risk framework and appetite
  • collaborates with the Local head of Transaction Services in defining the business strategy and commercial plan for the promotion of Cash solutions in Iberia and ING´s network
  • collaborates with Local product management to establish priorities for new product developments or enhancements as well as to develop business cases

Ensure transaction execution:

  • manages and advice on sizeable and complex cash mandates: end-to-end the pre-lead, pitching, proposal and implementation process effectively and efficiently
  • negotiates TS solutions and pricing agreements with clients by carefully and transparently balancing client expectations, cost of sales and service, within the risk appetite, including presentation of the business opportunities to the different commercial committees
  • coordinates and supports structuring and execution of Cash mandates in combination with colleagues from the TS Cash Advisory & Structuring Central team in Amsterdam
  • monitors implementations handled by the different teams in charge to guarantee the proper delivery of solutions according to the agreements, involving the completeness, timeliness and accuracy of the sales process and documentation. This goes with ensuring proper completion of transactions from a commercial perspective, coordinating different departments involved in the processes including clear instructions for Client Services Delivery to manage client requirements

Customer relationship management:

  • is responsible for improving and maximizing the cross-buy of TS Solutions
  • is a trusted advisor to prospects and clients and works closely with key internal colleagues/stakeholders like Bankers, TS Sales colleagues in the network, the TS Advisory & Structuring teams as well as Operations, Client Services, Legal, Risk
  • reviews recurrently the operative of existing clients with a view to maintain contracts & agreements and identify risks and opportunities
  • keeps a close eye on daily banking services provided by Client Services teams in particular incidences and proactive advice to improve client experience as well as cross buy
  • performs client profitability analysis to assess business trends

Risk & Portfolio management:

  • monitors the existing portfolio in close consultation with risk management.
  • is responsible for operating under our KYC guidelines

Knowledge Management:

  • contributes to the innovation and development of new solutions to enhance ING's PCM product catalog
  • attends (client) events to position the ING TS value proposition and keep informed on key trends
  • maintains knowledge of industry and TS products to the highest professional levels, with especial focus on Cash products

  • Bachelor´s or Master’s degree (preferably in Economics, Accounting or Finance)
  • at least 5 years relevant experience of working with Iberian clients in originating, negotiating and implementing Cash Management solutions
  • in-depth technical knowledge of the PCM and Liquidity product catalog, including, among other products: Payments, Collections, Channels, Cash & Liquidity solutions/Cash pooling
  • knowledge of Trade products (Bank guarantees, Receivables and Supply Chain Finance) will be highly valued
  • excellent commercial skills and able to excel in originating TS opportunities
  • an ambitious entrepreneur that combines client focus with delivery power and strong results orientation
  • ability to display style flexibility to teams and adapt plan, approach and behavior to the different needs and situations
  • managerial courage to question and make decisions
  • ability to communicate smoothly internally and externally
  • strong organizational sensitivity and drive; ability to understand and take into account the underlying issues, opportunities and dynamics of both the local organization as the Global Wholesale Bank

  • excellent level of English and Spanish. Portuguese will be highly valued.
