W&I Underwriter // Portuguese Speaker

We are working with a leading transactional risk insurance platform to appoint a Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) Underwriter with Portuguese language capability, supporting private equity and corporate M&A transactions across Latin America. This role offers hands-on involvement in complex cross-border transactions and close collaboration with sponsors, corporates, law firms, and brokers operating across the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting W&I insurance policies on buy-side and sell-side transactions throughout Latin America. Responsibilities include reviewing transaction documentation, assessing legal and commercial risk, structuring policy terms, and pricing risk appropriately. You will work closely with brokers and insureds during live deal processes, participate in client and advisor calls (including in Portuguese), review due diligence materials, and negotiate coverage positions in fast-moving, deal-driven environments.

Candidates are likely to come from a background in W&I underwriting, transactional risk, M&A insurance, or corporate/M&A law with a strong interest in underwriting. A solid understanding of M&A transactions and sale documentation is essential, alongside the ability to assess risk pragmatically and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders. Fluency in Portuguese is essential, with full professional fluency in English also required.
