European Grants Business Developer en Madrid

We work with organizations in key sectors such as chemicals, industry, biotech, and ICT to drive their innovation projects forward.


Job Purpose:

The European Grants Business Developer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing business opportunities related to European public funding programs (e.g., Horizon Europe, LIFE, Innovation Fund, CEF, Interreg, etc.). The role focuses on building relationships with clients and partners, identifying potentially winning proposals, and expanding the company’s portfolio of EU-funded projects.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Client Engagement:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within EU funding programs.
  • Develop long-term alliances with large corporations, SMEs, universities, public and private R&D centers, public institutions, and other key stakeholders to foster cooperation and innovation in Spain and Europe.
  • Present Euro-Funding EU Projects’ services, develop commercial proposals, and negotiate contracts.
  • Prepare offers, negotiate them with clients
  • Liaise with legal and administrative department for the proper closing and invoicing of contracts
  • Participate in networking events, info days, and European clusters to generate leads


Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Monitor EU funding trends, policy developments, and upcoming calls for proposals.
  • Provide insights to the strategy team for new service offerings or market positioning.
  • Maintain and update the company’s internal database of funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Innovation Management, STEM, or a related field.
  • Full professional proficiency in English, fluent in Spanish.


Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, consultancy, or proposal writing for EU-funded programs.
  • Proven track record in identifying and winning EU grants (e.g., Horizon Europe, LIFE, etc.).
  • Experience in client management and partnership building across Europe.


Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of EU funding mechanisms and policies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suits

Key competences:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen.
  • Team player with multicultural collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving approach.

Performance indicators:

  • Number of new clients acquired.
  • Volume of submitted proposals.

  • Client satisfaction and retention rate.

Additional Information:

Location: flexible.


Travel: Travel shall be required for client meetings, events, and conferences. Minimum 50% of the time
