Buyers Assistant for international sport brand

Our client is the world’s leading retailer of athletic footwear and apparel. Headquartered in New York City, it operates approximately 4,000 athletic retail stores in 20 countries in North America, Europe and Australia under various brand names. Additionally, the company operates a rapidly growing direct-to-customers business offering athletic footwear, apparel and equipment through its Internet and catalogue channels.

The European headquarter is based in the Netherlands, fairly close to Utrecht. Due to growth and expansion we are currently searching for a Buyers Assistant .

The Buyers Assistant’s main responsibility is to provide clerical back up and administrative support to the Buying Team. They need to ensure correct implementation of the buying process and provide full vendor information to the Buying team.

Tasks and responsibilities
-Responsible for the execution of the monthly buying procedure;
-Cost and retail management;
-Maintain accurate category files and vendor documentation;
-Assist with preparation work for range reviews and conference calls;
-Conduct ad hoc projects where required (e.g. Mens Running presentation);
-Build good working relationships with other areas of the business to achieve tasks accurate and in time, e.g. Marketing, Account Administration tasks;
-Contact point for category/department.

Candidate Profile
-Educated on a MBO level;
-Interest in the sportswear/fashion industry;
-English, every other language is a plus;
-Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office;
-Ability to work under pressure and with own initiative;
-Enthusiastic, goal oriented team player.
