RF Engineer

Who are we looking for?  

We are actively looking for a Telecommunications Engineer or related professional to contribute the development of our internal RF design and testing capabilities.  

At FOSSA we develop, manufacture and validate multitude of different RF systems. From power optimized devices for our IoT Nodes to complex SDR based systems that will be flown into space.  

You will be able to participate in the different steps of the development cycle for all our internal RF developments in ground, space and user segments.  

Responsibilities:  

• Development and simulation of filters, amplifiers, and other types of RF electronic designs for sub and up-GHz bands.  
• Simulation and design of matching networks for power amplifier adaptation circuits. 
• Antenna and RF circuit simulation.  
• Desing of transmitter and receiver systems based on SDR architecture. 
• Perform complete RF PCB designs. 
• Design and execute testing plans to validate the performance and reliability of RF components, systems, and subsystems. 

Profile:  

• Graduate in telecommunications engineering or similar.  
• 2 to 5 years of minimum related experience in RF Design and Testing. (Development of related personal projects will be considered as experience)  
• Knowledge about modulations and communications protocols BPSK, QPSK and specific modulations for IoT devices. (Spread-Spectrum, NB-IoT, …)  
• Experience in RF design with lumped elements and stubs and different transmission lines topologies (Microstrip, Coplanar, Stripline, …) 
• Ability to work with different substrates, analyzing their characteristics (permittivity, loss tangent, …)and adjust the designs according to these parameters. 
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers. 
• Experience with RF simulation tools (ADS, CST, AWR, ANSYS, …) 
• Full professional proficiency in English.  

  

Preferably:  

• Educational master level.  
• Demonstrable interest in the space sector.  
• SMD component soldering.
