Software Engineer

The Software Engineer is assigned to a specific software solution and is responsible for writing code to meet user interface specifications. Responsibilities also include providing Tier II client facing support, providing input to functional design, testing and troubleshooting, and sharing expertise with other Software Engineers and Team Members to perform hands on architecture and technical problem solving.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc, BA) in Computer Science or IT related discipline.
• A working knowledge of software design and programming, including experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Visual Basic, or Java.
• A working knowledge of the principles of Relational Database design and navigation, including query language skills such as SQL.
• Ability to translate requirements / problem statements in to functional code.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•  A self-starter with a high level of initiative, with the ability to learn and apply new technical skills and concepts quickly.
•  Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organization, planning and facilitation skills.
•  Ability to travel 10-20%.
•  You must be eligible to work in the UK.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• A background in the healthcare IT, either with a healthcare IT provider, or within the NHS is preferable but not required.
• Experience with AIX, Linux or HPUX operating systems.
• Experience with source code control and release mechanisms.
