Your role and work environment: 

ING’s ambition is to be the number one digital banking brand in Europe, offering customers everywhere the same empowering, personalized and differentiating experience. A collaborative, communicative Site Reliability Engineer will change the way we’re working.  

You will be working in a customer centric company where bank applications are essential. For that reason, we want to guarantee the total availability of them, building a new team pioneer in Spain under the SRE philosophy where you will be an important team member involved in the most important digital banking transformation. 

Your key responsibilities: 

What You'll Be Doing as a Site Reliability Engineer: 

• Participate in reliability and software engineering. 

• Automate/remove manual intervention in all processes. 

• Enable and train DevOps squads to implement these operational tasks autonomously.  

• Evaluate the developments that may compromise the capacity of the systems, not advancing with changes in the code that may add unnecessary complexity. 

• Development of fault-tolerant mechanisms ensuring the availability of the bank’s services and applications. 

• Monitoring of infrastructure and development of predictive alert systems to prevent incidents.  

• Participate in post-mortems and communicate stats on system availability. 

• Legacy components transformation and alignment with current best practices  

• Availability to be periodically on call 

What are we looking for? 

Proven track record and technical skills: 

• Solid knowledge in Linux, system monitoring, Infrastructure-as-a-Service and configuration management.  

• Ability to troubleshoot problems using high- and low-level debugging tools and techniques throughout all our stack.  

• Knowledge in: Ansible, Docker.  

• Knowledge with cloud computing and container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).  

• Experience with version control tools (Git) 

• Experience working with Java (3+ years) 

Desirables skills: 

• Azure Devops 

• ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform 

• Ability to automate using Python/Go 

• Experience working with NGINX and JBOSS server
