The position involves research in technology for information and data security. In this position you will work on software design and development of prototypes with industrial application based on recent research and new concepts in cybersecurity, for application in multiple vertical scenarios and across technologies.    

Areas of work include incident detection and response, behavioural analytics, cybersecurity risk assessment, critical infrastructure protection, security information sharing and analysis, IoT/OT security, cloud security and research on the application of technologies such as artificial intelligence or blockchain to solve challenges in cybersecurity.

As part of the cybersecurity research team you will take part in design of solutions, definition of system architectures, develop software, get involved in the prototype testing phases, and in piloting of solutions.  
You will join a research team and work under the direction of the Cybersecurity Research Laboratory manager.

In your daily work you will apply your basic knowledge of information systems (networking, computer architectures, software engineering, virtualized environments), and your experience in security concepts and technologies, in conjunction with your experience in (at least one of) technologies such as OT Security, SIEMs, threat analysis, information sharing (STIX, TAXII, others), OSINT, experience with CSIRT/CERTs, AI and deep learning for security information processing, among others.

Basic required skills: 
⦁    Expertise in cybersecurity concepts and technologies.
⦁    Experienced in information systems requirements definition, software design and development, and testing/deployment of systems.
⦁    Fluent spoken and written English
⦁    Self-starter, proactive and autonomous character
⦁    Ability to take part in technical discussions / negotiation among multiple actors.
⦁    Availability for travelling
⦁    Good interpersonal and communication skills   

Other valuable skills:
⦁    Experience / knowledge in distributed systems, internet communication protocols.
⦁    Past involvement in research or innovation activities (FP7, H2020 or others)
