Job summary
AWS Industry Products is chartered to build solutions that solve some of the biggest automotive technology challenges by partnering and co-developing with leading automotive companies. We are a fast growing multidisciplinary team looking for an experienced Business Development Lead to support existing GTM functions of current partnerships and to identify, close, and execute the next set of co-development partnerships. As the Principal Strategy and Business Development Lead, you will oversee the GTM efforts of our existing automotive solutions for the EU and APAC market, working with our co-development partners to engage automotive OEM’s and Tier 1 providers on next generation platform decisions. Additionally, you will engage strategic customers to identify new co-development partnership opportunities to build solutions that will transform the automotive industry. This will entail meeting with customers, creating net-new solutions, and helping to write internal business proposals to be approved by executives. This role will partner with industry leaders and execute on some of Amazon’s most strategic and high profile projects.

We are looking for an experienced business development leader who can take ownership and manage complex engagements and projects. Successful candidates will have demonstrated the ability to build strong partnerships and customer relationships with external c-suite executives and working level contacts. They will also have a broad understanding of automotive manufacturers and market dynamics to effectively secure business agreements with these customers.

Key job responsibilities
*Partner and Relationship Development*: The Strategy and Business Development Lead needs to be a strong relationship builder with executives and working level contacts with both customers and co-development partners. This role will own annual goals for customer agreements and new partnerships.

*Excellent Communication Skills:* The Strategy and Business Development Lead needs strong written and verbal communication skills and needs to be confident speaking internally and externally. This role will give customer presentations to executive-level audiences, present at trade shows and industry events, and participate in webinars and analyst panels to represent our products and partnerships.

*Creativity and Problem Solving:* The Strategy and Business Development Lead will need the ability to be creative with customers in order to solve industry wide problems with net-new solutions. This will involve leading workshops and ideation sessions with customers to identify potential areas for collaboration and writing compelling proposals for executive approval.

*Track Record of Delivering Results*: The Strategy and Business Development Lead needs to show a track record of success in complicated internal and external projects. They will need to feel comfortable owning high profile goals and dealing with internal and external executive pressure to deliver results.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience
* 7+ years of experience in Sales or Business Development for customer facing digital products
* Proven success in closing customer agreements or partnerships in the automotive industry
* Established leadership in complex engagements and partnerships involving cross-functional teams
* Experience driving organizational strategy and solution-level design thinking
* Fluency in English is required, any other European language is an advantage

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* MBA or equivalent relevant business experience
* Exhibits excellent, clear, and detail-oriented written and verbal communications on highly complex topics.
* Business acumen and instinct with strong analytical and quantitative skills
* Ability to develop complex delivery projects, multi-party business justifications including financial modeling and business transformation scenarios
* Experience leading a start-up or delivering disruptive technologies at scale in a mature market
