Job Responsibilities
-
To ensure technology designs in their respective infrastructure technology space align and adhere to the organization’s architecture technical strategy, policies, standards and direction
-
To ensure technologies implemented comply Quality/Regulatory standards, as applicable
-
Knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service applying Scrum and Agile methodologies
-
To provide technical recommendations and contribute to best practices, position papers, and white papers for the infrastructure technologies and the use cases for their respective technology areas
-
To stay aware of operational challenges and opportunities; works with support team staff to provide internal escalation support as needed to contribute to the resolution of incidents and major incidents
-
To produce and maintain sufficient documentation for the designs, design patterns, and component standards created or maintained
-
Able to work autonomously and/or under supervision of more senior peers and capable to lead technically small technology teams, mentor/lead individuals in workgroup providing guidance to less experienced personnel
-
To contribute to the end-to-end design of infrastructure technologies and the creation and maintenance of related standards
-
To evaluate across two or more areas promising technologies via proofs of concept (PoCs) within their technology domain and assess their feasibility in meeting Roche’s business needs
-
To architect (as solution architect) to design, build, test and implement (first-time deployments) integrated, resilient and reliable technologies in his/her respective technology area
-
To serve as consultant to internal/external stakeholders on technical matters
Job Requirements/Qualifications

CCNP certification preferred.
-
Effective interpersonal skills

Well demonstrated delivery focus

Strong customer engagement and presentation skills with the ability to communicate across all levels (senior and/or small audiences)
-
Ability to work effectively with team members and virtual teams from different locations and different cultural background
-
Ability to function independently with little supervision

Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
-
Fluent oral and written communication skills in English. German, Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin) are significant pluses
-
Proven project and time management skills is a plus
-
Moderate travel (20%) required and ability to work across multiple time zones
Technology Skills
-
Strong experience in Cisco - Viptela SDWAN solution design and implementation.
-
Strong experience designing Routing & Switching enterprise level solutions. (Cisco & Arista)
-
Strong WAN experience on Service Providers, MPLS, VPN, traffic engineering. (Cisco & Arista)
Knowledge and understanding in:
-
Infrastructure as code technologies: Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack or equivalents
-
Coding and scripting: PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby or equivalents
-
Distributed version control and source code management tools: GIT, github or equivalents
