Position background

In the GTM analytics COE our mission is to deliver impact by building machine learning products to optimize pricing and marketing investments and provide guidance to our sales organization.

Those products are of high value to the company: Imagine affecting the marketing investments of all of HP products globally across all distribution channels utilizing ML.

In our production environment data science teams from each domain generate the first algorithmic models to solve challenges such as: Should we invest more in search or display? Should we increase investment in keyword XXX in Google/AMZ on in keyword YYY?

However, this is only the first stage in the production path. Next comes the build for fast and efficient deployment where one needs to decide how to deploy this model to ensure high reliability and low wait time for users (potentially trading off with performance)

To help there we are looking for a principle ML engineer that can help us bring machine learning algorithms to life from the front-end part all the way back to the decision engine

What you will do

• Work with data science, product, and IT to understand the deployment requirement on one hand and the algorithmic/ data needs on the other
• Provide recommendation on how to best bring the model into production (delivery method, algorithmic changes, coding changes)
• Help build and design the new solutions Work with the team to productionize the solutions at scale Take co-ownership of reliability, wait time and commercial results  

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, statistics , Robotics or a related field
• Proven track record of in deploying ML in production
• Theoretical and applied skills in Machine Learning
• Experience with cloud infrastructure
• Experience with modern application lifecycle management tools (Git, Visual Studio, Intellij, Code Reviews) .
• Experience with automated builds, tests and deployment of libraries on a compute cluster.Experience with devops with technologies such as docker, AWS, Azure etc
• Understanding of Microservice architectures (Kubernetes, Openshift).
• Experience in deploying ML solutions on backend server
• Advanced understanding of modern software development methodologies.
• Advanced understanding of modern software development tools and SCM.
• Advanced understanding of Software Test methodologies, and an expert in testing tools. Strong General Project Management.
