The Program
The Caching program is responsible for building products which can help solve caching needs for applications. The Caching program is responsible for creating and maintaining Tanzu GemFire. Tanzu GemFire is a product which is used by industry leading companies for mission critical applications. Tanzu GemFire is an in-memory key-value datastore. More details about Tanzu GemFire are .
The Position
You will be working with the Tanzu GemFire product team focused on
Product Management responsibilities for building our cloud-based offering for the Tanzu Ecosystem
Product Management responsibilities for improving core Tanzu GemFire (Apache Geode in open source)
Responsibilities
Engage with customers regularly to drive requirements, solicit feedback, and participate in production readiness conversations
Collaborate with Designers to synchronize customer needs
Work with the Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to define details of how to effectively communicate the value shipped by the team to the customer and the industry
In collaboration with engineering, write and prioritize stories and acceptance criteria for the team
Explore opportunities to integrate Tanzu GemFire with the Tanzu portfolio of products and drive business outcomes
Participate in the strategy around bringing our Tanzu GemFire offerings to the public cloud
Required Skills and Experience
5 years of Product management experience or relevant experience, especially with large-scale, distributed products
Able to breakdown complex problems into simple solutions focused on important customer needs
Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach others
Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision making
Focused on data-driven approaches to solving problems, and accelerating the learning process to validate solutions
Ability to collaborate well with engineers, designers, and other partners
Experience engaging with developer personas at a small-scale to large enterprise customers
Preferred Skills
Existing experience with the NoSQL stores, Distributed databases and other data products
Experience with Lean and User-Centered Design methodologies
Experience with Agile development methodology, ideally Extreme Programming
Experience in working with Kubernetes
Experience with cloud service providers’ first and third party services
Understanding of the IT operations or software development space with a passion for understanding the life of Enterprise IT Operators and Application Developers
