The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a DevOps Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will join the Continuous Productization team to work on automating, improving, and streamlining the release process of Red Hat's offerings. You will work on open source projects, collaborating with other continuous integration (CI) engineers and members from the Development and Quality Engineering teams. As a DevOps Software Engineer, you'll work with the latest technologies available in the market today including containers technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes, change and configuration management technologies like Ansible, Jenkins, and Tekton, and a variety of language bindings like Go, Java, Python, Groovy, and Bash.

Primary job responsibilities
Work with various CI and continuous delivery (CD) tools and assist with offerings like Jenkins, Ansible, OpenShift, and Kubernetes that enable container management and orchestration and provide support for internal infrastructure Provide support for CI and CD across various projects, streams, etc. Write Go, Groovy, Python, Ansible, and Shell scripts to automate and integrate with other projects and automate existing manual flows Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommend changes in policies and procedures Improve current solutions and workflows; prefer appropriately simple, repeatable solutions over more complex and failure-prone ones Document and demonstrate solutions by clearly communicating status, developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
Required skills
Relevant experience with creating Linux CI and CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Docker Software engineering experience with writing code in Java, Go, or Python; Groovy or Bash are a plus Good written and verbal communication skills in English Problem solving and troubleshooting skills including performing root cause analysis for preventative analysis Proven ability to self-learn and have a technical understanding of processes Ability to work as part of an international team and as an individual contributor
The following are considered a plus:
OpenShift knowledge Experience in maintenance and developing on Jenkins Ansible knowledge Demonstrated experience containerizing applications or workflows Presentations and public speaking skills for presentations and demos Contributions to an open source project or community #LI-REMOTE
