Job Description
Summary
: To manage the design and development activities for a group. responsibility Includes systems and application analysis, programming, feasibility studies, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities: Manage a team responsible for providing capability development, implementation and support of several Transportation Management Systems.
Ensure Operational Excellence by providing solutions that are secure and highly available. Ensure team is following best practices and in alignment with overall FedEx architecture. Operate as a liaison with the business to define and deliver new Transportation Management capabilities. Provide Management oversight of several key 3rd Party Vendors. Assist in budget process along with forecasting, contracts and funding requests. Ensure team is following all compliance activities and provide support of associated audits. Provide coaching and support to develop team members skills to assist them in achieving their career objectives. Abilities/Knowledge/Skills Considered a Plus: Vast experience in several 3rd Party Transportation Management Systems. SAFe/Agile Business Acumen Vendor Management Excellent written and verbal communications Excellent organization and time management skills Highly Collaborative High tolerance for ambiguity Strong coaching skills Domicile: This position will be domiciled in Uniontown, OH, Akron, OH
Remote Work: The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.
Relocation: Relocation assistance may be available based on business need.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or directly related quantitative Degree or related field. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Five (5) years systems development experience which includes programming. Skill in one or more programming languages. If position is in mainframe environment, complex systems experience on IBM operating systems or microprocessors required. Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects. IMS experience. If position is in client/server environment, systems development experience to include distributed systems is required. Experience in client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development or case tools. Experience in the technical design and development of major client/server projects. Knowledge of software and engineering principles. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills.
