Description
Role Purpose:
o Support architects to produce feasibility, scope, design and dimensioning documentation for several areas of the E2E Smart Communication Service Architecture. As part of this process:
· Collaborates with Group Commercial to align the commercial and technical requirements contributing to maintain an update set of Group Technology requirements.
· Works with suppliers to follow-up on existing issues and provides input in the vendor selection process.
o End-to-end technical verification: Using the relevant design and industry specifications and with the support of the architect responsible for the features/products, put together development test plats and execute them beyond the mere pass/fail investigating the root cause based on network and client tracing and logging
o Advanced troubleshooting: Proactively identify end-2-end product/features issues, take ownership and work with the relevant architect and product manager towards their resolution in a timely manner
o Occasionally collaborates with Group R&D, suppliers and industry to evaluate and develop proof of concepts and, when necessary ,maintains and prepares demos for different Vodafone stakeholders ranging from colleagues to senior management
o IPR generation: Identifies new opportunities to generate IPR and, if applicable, generates the necessary documentation and follows the Vodafone process to file new patent applications
The candidate should demonstrate a good understanding in some of the following areas:
Industry standards: 3GPP and GSMA, with special focus on IMS, RCS (RCS/RCS-e).
Mobile technologies: Voice & Packet Core Network, GSM, GPRS, 3G/UMTS, LTE.
Communication Protocols: SIP, MSRP, RTP, TLS, HTTP, gRPC.
Core network architecture: E2E general understanding of the elements, function and interaction between key core network and IMS architecture.
Terminals: Application development, mobile OSs (Android, iOS), debugging.
Programming: Java, HTML, J2EE.
Other: Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, RHEL, VMWare, Dockers Swarm, AWS, Servlets, Spring Boot, Reactive, Ansible, GITHub, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Cucumber, Junit, Mockito, Prometheus, Kibana, Apache, Wildfly, Mobicents, Oracle, Cassandra, Hazelcast, Kafka.
What you bring:
Career degree - Computer Science or Telecommunications
High level of written and spoken English.
Knowledge of telecoms technologies in particular technical skills Core Network Value Added Services Network Function Virtualization.
Ability to understand marketing needs and reference market evolution.
Strong experience managing complex and inter functional projects.
Any agile certification would be a plus.
