How to contribute to our vision

Our new colleague identifies himself with the following statements :

-Experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

-Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.

-Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

-Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

-Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.

-Responsible for gathering and analyzing data requirements and data flows to other systems-Lead multiple scrum teams-Work as part of the team to define requirements for use and implementation of a Data Lake.

-Make recommendations for modernizing the data collection process (i.e. define requirements for modernizing the data call process, conduct an Alternatives of-Analysis of existing solutions within DOE, conduct market research on industry best practices, recommend solutions);

-Identify and advocate for opportunities to improve the quality of data through process and system improvements.

-Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.

-Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.

-Maintain logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.

-Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQLscripts.

-Evaluate data models and physical databases for variance and discrepancies.

What you need to make a difference

- Drive data governance and metadata management initiatives across all the product portfolios

-Advanced level of english, bot written and verbal

-Problem solving and decision-making – working with others to identify, define and solve problems, which includes making decisions about the best course of action

-Strong conceptual strength, strategic thinking, problem solving, technical, and analytical skills.

-Ability to ask next level questions anticipating business inquiries and performing root cause analysis

-Bachelors/ Master’s degree in IT/Computer Science,Engineering (or equivalent)-10 – 14 years of experience in Data Engineering.

-Experience leading architecture and engineering with significant responsibility indesigning and implementation of Big Data solutions in Petabytes scale with hundreds of servers

-Proficiency in any one of the public clouds (preferably in Azure)

-Experience with distributed scalable Big Data store or NoSQL, including Cassandra,Cosmos DB, Cloud base, HBase, or Big Table

-Experience in with Apache Hadoop and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), S3protocol, Object Store and with processing large data stores

Strong track record to drive rapid prototyping and design for Big Data-Data warehouse design experience in Azure Synapse / AWS Redshift

-Solid ETL experience in creating data pipelines in Apache spark-Hands-on implementation experience in coding scripts in Python, RESTful API-Hands-on experience in creating workflows in Apache Airflow or similar tools-Corporate Systems Arch Standards-Business Architecture, Data Marts, Data Warehousing, Data Analysis Duties and Responsibilities
