A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY INTENSIVE IN RESEARCH AND COMMITTED TO TEACHING INNOVATION

The tenure track position in History of Art (History of art and history of culture in the Enlightenment and in the contemporary world) is a combined research and teaching position. This announcement is part of the UPF-Department of Humanities’ strategy to recruit talented researchers in high priority research disciplines.

The applicant must hold a PhD qualification in the field of art history and cultural history, which reinforces the theoretical studies of European modernity, such as the studies of mentalities and cultures of the Enlightenment and its prolonged impact on the modernity, its art and its socio-cultural organization.

The applicant will need to meet the following requirements: demonstrable experience in the acquisition of scholarships or research projects, co-financing of activities and publications, establishment of national and international scientific collaborations, and consolidation of multilingual publications with distinction in their scientific impact and quality and/or level of distribution.

The applicant will be expected to: join the Faculty team in the area of History of Art; teach in the sphere of Humanities and Global Studies; take part in the Department’s research activities; and ultimately to hold management positions.

Command of English and Spanish and/or Catalan is essential, and knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
