Lead BioProcess Engineer - Northern Spain
Leap29 are working with an international consulting business who focus on supporting pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Lead BioProcess Engineer to join a project in Northern Spain.
This position will be responsible for design and implementing manufacturing processes and supporting utilities from pilot plant to commercial production. We are looking for someone with a strong background in process design and operations in pharmaceutical facilities.
Responsibilities:
•Produce Process Flow Diagrams and Material and Energy Balances.
•Estimate utility requirements for new manufacturing processes, design utilities generation and distribution systems.
•Generate Process P&IDs that include controls strategy and CIP/SIP functions
•Generate P&IDs for critical utility systems, such as WFI, USP Purified water and Clean Steam.
•Modify existing bioprocess facilities.
•Lead a team of process engineers.
•Perform engineering studies for expanding, improving or automating existing facilities with limited supervision.
•Produce specifications and performance data sheets for process equipment and instrumentation.
•Assume ownership of the process-related aspects of a portion of a large project or an entire small project and provide technical support to the design team.
•Work on site (in Spain) with client process team to develop solutions.
Requirements:
•Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in process design within pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
•Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or similar.
•Strong knowledge of cGMP's and how they affect process design and equipment specifications.
