The Role
The purpose of the role is to control all the mechanical aspects of material handling systems for Dematic.
Key responsibilities:
To interpret project layout and specification into final design layout and conveyor data list. To generate unit cycle times, system throughput, and general dimensional requirements. To provide system integration drawings and specifications. To give advance notice of materials required to Purchase Department. To create detailed drawings and parts lists for equipment within scope of supply. To specify details of any additional special conveyor elements or associated equipment and liaise with third parties to understand and validate their mechanical designs. To create an installation file to pass on information to the site supervisor and installation team. To assist with unit risk assessments, where necessary, in line with statutory requirements. To create detailed Operating and Maintenance Instructions and provide spare parts lists as required. To liaise with production planning and purchase departments. To provide technical information to any department so entitled, i.e electrical design, projects, service, spares. To maintain and use wherever possible, standard product information for the execution of orders. Where necessary to develop special and new standard products to suit specific projects and new markets. To comply with the company policy as defined in the Staff Handbook, Safety Manual, and Quality Assurance Manual.
What We Are Looking For
Technical skills & Knowledge:
Essential: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline Around 5 years experience in a similar role Personal competences:
Initiative Results Orientation Decision Making Ability to Analyse Organising and Quality Orientation Communication Skills Team Player Ability to work under minimum supervision
