About the role

The Spain relationship Manager will be managing a portfolio of partnerships composed by the leading brands in Spain. At IAG Loyalty we are continuously working with our partners and evolving our propositions to maintain Iberia Plus and Vueling Club leadership position in the market.

Based in our Madrid office, you will drive the customer proposition and products with our network of partners. This role will act as the principle IAG Loyalty contact and ambassador with external partners and will be responsible for the long term, profitable growth of these relationships. Due to the nature of these relationships, it is vital that the successful candidate is fluent, to a business level, in both English and Spanish.

The key internal partners will be the Relationship Lead, Marketing Lead and Product Owners and together they will have the shared goal to drive excellence in Customer Experience and Marketing.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and grow issuance performance from your portfolio and drive customer engagement with redemption products and services
  • Focus on key partnerships where largest value creation is possible with an ongoing appetite for product improvements and marketing distribution growth
  • Support the Business Development effort in your area with dual focus on both larger / strategic partnerships and creating the ability to onboard smaller partnerships at low/no effort
  • Working collaboratively to develop and promote sustainable and scalable products, re-using technical or propositional solutions across your partnerships
  • Play your role in the evolution of internal ‘ways of working' to improve agility, decision-making and quicker delivery for partners, customers and for value creation
  • Identify where technology can improve the Customer & Partner Journey - working with tech teams to deliver and automate to streamline and drive efficiency.
  • This is a constantly changing and diverse environment and therefore you will require resilience and a tenacious and assertive approach.

    The new Commercial Team has 3 critical areas of focus:

  • Manage the Partner Relationship
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with your partner contacts, utilising your excellent communication skills
  • Develop and own a joint plan with key strategic partners designed to maximise profitable Avios issuance and achieve partner KPIs. Continually seek to promote the partnership and products within IAG and to drive the partner portfolio to engage in, and continually promote IAG customer products and engagement platforms
  • Support the business in being able to clearly demonstrate and articulate the value that IAGL delivers to your partners
  • Work with integrity and professionalism to become a trusted business partner
  • Working alongside the relevant Relationship and Marketing Leads, seek opportunities for business growth, brand support and customer proposition exploitation
  • To improve the customer proposition and products
  • Deliver stronger and simpler value propositions
  • Play an active role in modernising the customer experience, with better digital journeys for collection, spend and use of benefits
  • Ensure our redemption products and features maximise the partnership potential
  • Improve and simplify our partnership acquisition or collection journeys
  • Create digital and data connections for customers where this enhances the experience
  • Maximise the value of partner assets and channels for our customers
  • Support the growth of relevant awareness to drive wider adoption
  • Provide insights from partners and external customers to support an increase our marketing capabilities to make a step change in conversion to collection
  • Input into the development of product strategies matching customers with the right partnerships
  • Support the drive to optimise our marketing communications, mar-tech and channels to increase reach and effectiveness
  • Increase our capability to market the total value of IAGL in B2B channels, the Avios currency, and grow demand from partners

  • Data driven - uses data to provide insight and practices evidence-based decision-making
  • Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in consulting, B2B Travel or technology sales
  • English and Spanish language required to a business level
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred, but not essential
