Health Research Institute of Balearic Islands (IDISBA)
We are a new, small multi-disciplinary team that combines expertise in genetics, molecular biology, basic and clinical-translational research. We aim to unravel the mechanisms of oncogene-driven Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, the most deadly type of cancer. We are based in the IdISBa-Hospital Son Espases (Palma de Mallorca, Spain), which is an unusually great place to live and do science
The successful candidate will lead an open-ended project addressing fundamental questions in Oncogenes and Pancreatic cancer in a totally bench-to-bedside approach with direct clinical applicability.
PFIS Doctoral Fellowships are funded by the National Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII), via the Strategic Action in Health 2021 (Acción Estratégica en Salud). They offer a 4 years employment contract for pre-doctoral researchers to carry out their doctoral studies as part of the team working on a research project funded by the ISCIII.
The selected candidate will apply for the PFIS fellowship to carry out her/his PhD studies as part of the project PI20/001267, entitled "STUDY OF IMPACT OF GENETIC ALTERATION ON PANCREATIC DUCTAL ADENOCARCINOMA", under the supervision of Dr. Carles Barceló. The project aims to study the interplay beween oncogenic pathways and the development of Pancreatic Cancer in a bech-to-bedside approach.

Selection Process:
