A team of more than one thousand people sharing an idea: doing our bit in helping our clients create a better future for themselves, providing them with the tools they need to get where they want to go.
In today’s world, we know this happens because we are a fully online bank. We were born out of that idea and 20 years on, technology, simplicity and transparency continue to be the ingredients of the recipe that leaves the best taste in our mouths: being more than just a bank, someone useful in the lives of the millions of clients who have chosen us.
The way we do things also mirrors our eagerness to innovate. We are proud to be one of the very first banks to work with agile methodologies. It doesn’t ring a bell yet? No worries, we will be delighted to tell you all about it. You will find it’s one of those things you’ll want to repeat over and over.
And although we are based in Spain, we like to cross borders. We are lucky to work with international teams every day across 44 countries, composed of women and men as equal as they are diverse. To give you context, let us explain to you what this is all about …
Our normal day starts with the Daily, the stand-up meeting where we share with our colleagues what we did the day before, the new tasks that we are going to perform that day, and if there is any issue we need to brainstorm to solve it.
The Infra Devops team have a group of engineers, a Product Owner, and a Scrum Master. The latter guides all the agile meetings and ceremonies. Besides the Daily, you will have some more agile meetings during the day that will help you to prioritize and solve any issues you may have. Also, during the week, we usually have some Refinements meetings to clarify the user story´s r incidents\ problems that we know we are involved in.
After the Daily, you can take a break with your colleagues. We have a food corner and a great terrace where you can have breakfast (there is no diet at Model Bank, so please don’t hesitate to take that extra croissant). Then you go back with more energy to focus on our support queue and working towards meeting our sprint Goal. We always work as a team and not just a group, this means that we do not work individually and try to help each other when it’s necessary.
At noon, you will go out to have lunch with your colleagues. It can be at the Chinese restaurant close to the office, to the malls that are really close to the building, or you can eat at our canteen or food corner. After lunch, you can walk a little bit or go out to the terrace to sit in the sun (summer is coming).
The afternoon goes very fast, working on the functionalities and participating in guilds to improve our skills in interesting stuff like pipeline & tools, database, and more.

We know that you want to talk about technology, so here it is what this position will be working with: Continuous Delivery concepts, processes and methods, Redhat Enterprise Linux, PL/SQL, web server platforms mainly Nginx, Java application servers (we use a mix of Jboss, Tomcat, and microservices based on Spring Boot and Akka), virtualization and cloud environments, containerization (Openshift, Kubernetes) and component deployment frameworks, Microservices architectures principles and challenges, maintenance of Production environments, following ITSM principles, Ansible, and scripting (python/go/ruby). And we will really appreciate knowledge in Agile methodologies with SCRUM, Kanban or XP, and retail banking.
Your working environment
The DevOps chapter lead is part of the IT Department and integrated in the COO domain. Will be reporting and inter-acting with IT Mgmt.
The areas where you are going to have major responsibilities will be: Operation and maintenance of operating systems Redhat Enterprise Linux 7, middleware and web server technologies, develop the next generation application hosting platform based on containers and Openshift, and ITSM services management.
In our program, infra Devops Expert helps to develop, operate and maintain the infrastructure platform for the applications of Maggie Project. Deliver a stable and working infra environment in production by giving the best use to technology and development practices (that works for all machines, not only yours!), adding value on their technical layer while keeping in mind the rest of the technical stack and overall development.
