At Allianz, we are looking for a DevOps Lead Engineer in order to join our newly established Branch, based in Barcelona centre.

Allianz Technology is the internal IT provider of the Allianz Group.  The DevOps Lead, in charge of the to the Gateway Platform team, which is responsible for the access control of our eCommerce platform, works primarily with Thailand and Barcelona DevOps teams and diverse internal-customer project teams all throughout globe for the API Management and Integration Platform development and delivery.

Working closely to our HQ in Germany (Munich), this is an exciting job opportunity to contribute in the shaping of our corporate data systems and work in a fast-paced, multinational environment with a strong focus on best practices. The job requires proper communication and alignment with all stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Is responsible for leading the DevOps team towards the delivery of the Gateway components with scrum methodology.
  • Performs financial management and project management for the team.
  • Assigns resources on adequate tasks.
  • Facilitates the scrum ceremonies.
  • Enforces practices defined by Gateway Technical Lead (coding, QA, branch management, etc.) by appropriate controls and continuous improvement.
  • Is actively involved in customer interactions to rollout the product.
  • Guides the team towards tailoring the best Scrum practice that suites the delivery mode.
  • Documents internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Resolves project issues, mitigation risks and manage scope change request for sprints.
  • Ensures support in fixing of operational issues & platform stability
  • Supports major/minor releases and the consistent function or service of the product.

  • Our schedule is from Monday to Thursday from 8-10h to 17-19h and on Fridays from 8-10h to 14-16h. Besides, from the 25th of June till 15th of September we enforce Friday’s reduced schedule.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience:


  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar qualification.
  • Full working proficiency in English (C1/CAE or over).
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT with several years of experience in software delivery and Scrum methodology.
  • At least 2-years’ experience in team management, acting as a technical referent.
  • Working experience with Jira, Confluence, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus & Git (Experience with behaviour driven development is a big plus). Nice to have experience in Cloud (AWS) and containers: Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker.
  • Familiarity with ITIL methodology.
  • Excellent analytical, creative thinking, problem-solving and consulting skills.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and customer-relation management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in multi-national teams.
