This position is in support of HP Instant Ink (*), a worldwide ink subscription initiative lead out of HP’s Inkjet and Print Solutions Global Business Unit. HP Instant Ink represents one of the top strategic priorities for the print business thus a critical success factor to generating future revenue growth for HP. As the market share and financial leader in the global printing market, HP business was built on the highly successful transactional supplies business model.  HP Instant Ink represents a new subscription-based business model that is designed to transform the global printing market by radically changing the perceived value of HP supplies.  This is high visibility initiative that has been reviewed at the highest levels in the company.

The primary objective of the role is to manage the CO Instant Ink Business and Product Management team.  

The Instant Ink Category manager will also be responsible of the Service expansion effort.

In this role, you will utilize business acumen, customer and market insights as well as critical thinking and strategic perspective to define the needs and requirements to make HP Instant Ink successful and lead the geographical expansion of the service.


  • Manages the Instant Ink Central Category team (6-8 employees).
  • Delivers on enrollee and financial metrics of the program.
  • Manages the Instant Ink service life cycle for the designated countries. From an understanding of customer needs/insights, provides target customers, value proposition, pricing and initial service design, messaging, and/or whole product strategies (packaging, warranty, service, support), as well as forecasting through product introduction.
  • Leads program and projects that involve cross-functional coordination to provide integrated products/services/solutions
  • Based on a strong knowledge of market trends and consumer behavior affects the strategy/direction of the product line/line of services or solutions
  • Defines broader channel strategy for Consumer Solutions Services.
  • Directly collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams in different regions and time zones to generate and align plans.
  • Maintains priorities and relentless execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing, Business, or Technical fields; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred


  • 5+ years in product marketing and/or business development roles
  • 3+ years of experience in managing people.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership in product development
  • Demonstrated business management skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects working with partners and cross-functional organizations
  • Proven experience leading, driving and measuring virtual teams towards a common goal
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company, including senior management
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Influence at the senior vice president and above level, as well as with customers and partners
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment
  • Fluent in English
