At Allianz, we are looking for a Java Architect in order to join our newly established Branch, based in Barcelona centre.

Allianz Technology is the internal IT provider of the Allianz Group. Our eCommerce department, with headquarters in France (Paris), provides end-to-end eCommerce solutions for our internal business organization Allianz Partners.

We provide solutions for direct sales (B2C) and integrated solutions for partners (B2B2C) as well agency solutions (B2B) all over the world.

It is an unique opportunity to lead the development of a component for a state-of-the-art eCommerce platform.

The position requires to work together with technical leads and other IT Architects, to technically lead the different agile teams and coordinating with their direct report the definition of code best practices, architecture standards and technical integrity of components.

Components are mainly in Java 8 but there is also some Angular 2+ and Angular.js for front-end parts: the successful candidate needs to have a strong background in Java but also an understanding of front-end technologies.

Reporting directly to the Head of Delivery, this position is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multinational environment with a strong focus on best practices. The job requires proper communication and alignment with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designs the target architecture for the eCommerce platform, following Allianz Architecture blueprint.
• Develops design specifications for mid- to-large scale applications based on the transactional eCommerce middleware platform (eMagin) and/or a variety of front-end web-based solutions.
• Translates functional specifications into architecture models that meet functional, operational and environmental requirements.
• Consolidates technical specifications and ensure their pertinence alongside technical analysts.
• Reviews and guides the technical work of several near-shore and off-shore development teams.
• Provides reports to the Delivery Manager regarding the eCommerce teams’ ability to implement developments according to established parameters.
• Collaborates efficiently with our internal customer (Allianz Partners) in order to respect timeline, velocity and quality of services for the entire Travel project.
• Reviews and validates project’s architecture solutions.
• Manages and supports agile team’s communication.

Key Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, Mathematics or a similar qualification.
• Full proficiency in English (min. 780-TOEIC/ B2-CEFR), French is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience as senior Java Analyst/Developer, preferably in an eCommerce context.
• Experience with design expression methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience leading teams.
• Good knowledge of IT architecture namely ecommerce platforms, both web and mobile.
• Having experience in agile development mode is good to have.
• eCommerce initial experience will be a high plus.
