What are we looking for?

For us, a Senior Procurement Buyer is someone who:

Knows about: 

Negotiation with Suppliers: In cooperation with Business, the buyer will lead the negotiation for the acquisition of goods and services mainly in the IT CATEGORY, ensuring compliance with the Bank´s policies and procedures.

Maintenance and development of the relationship with Suppliers: The buyer will be responsible, together with the final user, of maintaining an adequate relationship with suppliers, ensuring that the deliverables are the ones agreed in the contract and developing said relationship to maximize the return for the Bank. The buyer will ensure a unique approach to the supplier, irrespectively of the internal users of the goods or services procured. The buyer will use different approaches, considering annual expenditure, impact in the business, innovation, user satisfaction.

Contract Management: preparation of the contract, with the Support from Legal, to ensure that it incorporates the services and conditions agreed and that it meets the Bank´s internal policies; follow up of the goods /services delivered to control that they are provided according to the conditions and quality levels agreed; follow up of the contract along its life cycle and preparation of termination plans upon maturity.

Communication with Head Office: Ensure an adequate communication with the Procurement Corporate line.

Is a master of:

MS Office
Procurement systems (ej. Peoplesoft)
Preparation of RFP´s.
Knowledge on commercial agreements and contractual terms
Capacity for self-management, with experience in decision making processes, management of priorities and short deadlines
Proficiency in English
University degree

Has worked in:

5 years in a Procurement Department, mainly in the IT Category
Experience in complex negotiation processes and in multinational deals
Experience in the use of e-auctions
