What are we looking for?

ING Spain’s Transformation Office connects group-wide priorities to local strategy and execution, providing transparency to enable decision-making, balancing short and long-term objectives, risks and costs. We keep a global vision of all past, current and future projects and lead change execution management of critical programmes.

For us, a Portfolio Manager is someone who can bridge the gap between Group-wide priorities, local strategy and execution, providing transparency to enable decision-making:

Enable senior management to create, define and manage the portfolio of strategic programs that best delivers the organization's vision, balancing short-term and long-term objectives, risks and costs

Alignment within the whole portfolio (both Group-wide and local) providing global vision and transparency to help decision-making and strategic alignment (both Group-wide and local)

A Portfolio Manager helps manage projects from beginning to end:

Ideation, business case and setting up:

Specify value, both on a local and Group-wide level, ensuring alignment with mission, objectives and Key Results

Prioritization, searching for efficiencies on available capacity and budget 

Clarify costs of both change execution and running

Manage complexity: evaluate impact on the rest of portfolio

Maintain a unique overview of the entire portfolio

Implementation phase

Detailed roadmap follow-up

Dependencies management y cross-synergies 

Escalate risks and impediments if needed

Data Quality assurance

Keeping financial up-to-date

Group-wide programs: alignment within the rest of countries

Has worked in:

Minimum 5 years of experience in an organization and change role or consultancy background in the same context

Project Management experience in a complex environment

Strong knowledge of program management in a mid-size organization: practical experience in managing business transformation programs in financial institutions

Experience in complex change management with a strong technology and operations base

Experience in an international matrix organization

Whose day at ING looks very much like this:

7.00 - 10.00 h / Arrives at the office (Flexible start time) 

At 10.00 h / Daily planning

At 11.00 h has a meeting with a Tribe Lead to discuss their roadmap

At 12.00 h does a deep-dive with experts on upcoming regulation

At 13.00 h takes a break and goes down to the canteen for lunch.

At 14.00 h sits down with project managers to track progress

At 16.00 h works on reports for Head-Office

16.00 - 19.00 h (Flexible end time). Goes to the paddle tennis court for a game.

Win or lose, a shower and off to home.
