At Allianz, we are looking for a Java Architect in order to join our newly established Branch, based in Barcelona center

Allianz Technology is the internal IT provider of the Allianz Group. Our eCommerce department, with headquarters in France (Paris), provides end-to-end eCommerce solutions for our internal business organization Allianz Partners.

We provide solutions for direct sales (B2C) and integrated solutions for partners (B2B2C) as well agency solutions (B2B) all over the world.

This position will ‘own’ different back office components of our eCommerce platform Quotation Engine, Delegation Tools, Purchase and Exports.

It is a unique opportunity to lead the development of portfolio components for a state-of-the-art eCommerce platform, by managing different Agile teams and their technical leads.

The position requires to work together with technical leads and IT Architects, to technically lead the different Agile teams and coordinating with their direct report the definition of code best practices, architecture standards and technical integrity of components.

Components are mainly in Java but there is also some JS Angular for front-end parts: the successful candidate needs to have a strong background in Java but also an understanding of front-end technologies.

Reporting directly to the head of Delivery, this position is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multinational environment with a strong focus on best practices. The job requires proper communication and alignment with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Own 'Agile' teams and manage the technical leads, by providing:

• Technical guidance for identified developments ensuring that they respond to business needs and are able to be clearly understood by outsourced development teams.
• Technical leadership to the rest of Tech Leads, act as a mentor.

'Own' the back office space by:

• Ensuring technical consistency of new developments with the current eCommerce platform and with architectural/production guidelines.
• Ensuring compliance and quality of the respective specifications and guidelines of the company and legislation (e.g. security, service definitions).
• Manage the development teams, including both Tech Leads and Developers. This involves distributing workloads, production planning etc.

Liaise with other stakeholders:

• Support architecture and production teams to organize, document and oversee development processes, tools and technical choices.
• Projects and business team: support the functional / technical communication between team to ensure project quality.
• Help define, execute and oversee tests, support development teams during project delivery phase.
• Supervise and manage deployment of new applications, services and developments.

Key Requirements:

• University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar qualification.
• Full proficiency in English (min. 780-TOEIC/ B2-CEFR), French is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in digital software development.
• Minimum of 3-years' experience designing architecture patterns.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience leading teams.
• Exposure to management positions and ability to communicate at that level.
• Good knowledge of eCommerce business models.
• Good knowledge of IT architecture namely ecommerce platforms, both web and mobile.
