3D Printing - Process Development Engineer

Knowledge and Skills:

• Evaluating, proposing, and selecting forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management to be used across the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
• Residing in the newly formed Materials Integration Team in Barcelona, the candidate will lead process engineering excellence for post HW/FW process optimization and control across Barcelona 3D
• Lead the succinct framing of process capability and improvement opportunities for the 3D Operations review of part quality capability
• Partner with the Operations manager to pareto and prioritize process improvement efforts.
• Develop & document end to end process flow
• Define & establish critical process parameters & develop statistical process control
• Define & align testing to final part quality metrics including metrology routines & methods
• Perform process characterization DOEs
• Clearly communicate efforts to 3D integration teams WW
• Mentor and drive robust process engineering tools WW
• Partner with key internal & external orgs
  • HW and System development – key role to influence and drive necessary margin and control into our HW & process for new and released products
  • External lead manufacturing partners
  • SW – process & part critical data format and accessibility, process development tools
  • Benchmarking - process control data, etc

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD. degree in an Engineering/Scientific and/or Computer Science related disciplines
• 5+ yrs experience in process / manufacturing engineering

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of statistical concepts and tools (JMP preferred)
• Valued to have new process development experience in high volume fields such as Silicon Fabrication, pharmaceuticals, inks, and TIJ cartridge process optimization
• Particular value to have optimized systems from marginal capability to high capability
• Fast learner. Proactive in acquiring autonomous knowledge in record time. Competency and skill growth focus. Independent judgment and ability to drive convergence and decisions
• Knowledge of statistical concepts and tools (JMP preferred)
• Preferable experience using programming languages (Python, C) and/or recognition and image processing knowledge and/or sensor technology and/or mathematical modeling skills
• High level of analytical problem solving and decision making skills
• Results oriented and customer centric. Ability to communicate technical data, issues and proposed solutions
• Hands on approach and proficiency in experimental design. Familiar with DOE and data/statistical analysis techniques
• Strong interpersonal relationship, teamwork, and communication skills. Fluent spoken and written English
• Preferable understanding of project management tools, qualification techniques, etc., as utilized in an environment of product development and continuous improvement.
• 3D printing or print systems previous knowledge and experience will be valued
