Primary functions

Writing System Engineers play lead roles in multi-discipline teams (mechanical, chemical, electrical and SW/FW) working on new products and solutions for printing and imaging.  You will design, implement, test, and validate systems and components to deliver optimized image quality, throughput, and reliability for our printers.

Together with the research groups of Physical Metallurgy, Micro & Nanomechanics at IMDEA Materials Institute, jointly seek a Research Assistant (Msc Degree in materials science and Engineering) to carry out his/her doctoral research on the field of Additive Manufacturing of metals. This project will lead to a PhD that will be defended at Carlos III University of Madrid.

The candidate will carry out his/her research work both at HP 3D Printig, for th development of MetalJet Print Process, and at IMDEA Materials Institute, for materials characterization. He/She will receive tranining in transversal Skills and will have the opportunity to learn from 3D printing market and disseminate his/her work at specialized forums.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, completed and about to start PhD. degree in an Engineering/Science related discipline, with good background in Metallurgy
• Experience in materials processing, microstructure characterization, and mechanical testing will be recognized.
• Fluent English
• High level of analytical decision making and problem solving skills
• Fast learner. Proactive knowledge and skill growth focus. Results oriented and customer centric.
• Strong interpersonal relationship, teamwork, and communication skills. Fluent spoken and written English
• Strength in experimental design. Proactive and autonomous.
• Preferable understanding of project management tools, qualification techniques, etc, as utilized in an environment of continuous improvement.
• 3D or Print systems knowledge and experience will be valued
• Product development experience will be valued
