HP Regions Litigation & Regulatory Affairs EMEA Postgraduate Student en Las Rozas

We are looking for a law graduate to join and support the Regions Litigation & Regulatory Affairs EMEA team based in Las Rozas de Madrid (Spain), which is responsible for the management of significant litigations globally outside the US and regulatory affairs (public copyright policy and competition law) in EMEA.  

The candidate will:

  • Support HP Regions Litigation & Regulatory Affairs EMEA team in the performance of their responsibilities in the field of copyright public policy, competition law and/or disputes resolution (research, translation reviews…).
  • Support the function by gathering and presenting information on ongoing litigations to fulfil reporting duties towards various stakeholders within the company (General Counsel, Controllership, Finance, Business Units, external auditors…).
  • Provide support with managing the litigation budget and other litigation reporting tasks for France and, eventually, some other European countries.
  • Perform her/his function at a local level but in an international environment with continuous interaction with US, EMEA, Asia and Latin-America legal colleagues dealing with litigation matters at a world-wide or regional level.

Job Requirements:

  • Law school graduate
  • Less than 2 years of post-qualification legal experience.
  • Fluent in oral and written English (C2 Level) and French (C2 level). Language certificates are not a mandatory requirement. Instead, the desired proficiency level will be assessed through oral interviews and written tests.
  • Detail-oriented, growth mindset, organizational skills, time-effectiveness, team orientation and readiness to work in an interruptive and demanding business environment.
  • Proactive person, capable of working independently. Good skills to research for legal information.
  • Sound judgment (routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for legally and ethically achieving business objectives).
  • Ability to contribute to the development of innovative legal principles, ideas and solutions.
  • Basic financial skills; able to understand budget setting and tracking.
  • Good Excel and Power Point skills.
  • Strong commitment to fairness and integrity.
  • International legal experience, with knowledge of litigation system in France, is a very positive differentiator.

Education and Experience Required:
High School Degree 4th Year of University completed--typically a technical degree specialization.
