Partner Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS Partners (System Integrators, ISVs, etc.) to help them make the most of the Cloud. They are at the crossroads of business and technology and engage with partners to help them deliver value to their customers at all stages of cloud adoption. Partner Solutions Architects also take a leading role in creating and presenting technical content and best practices.

As a Manager Partner Solutions Architect, you will be leading the Iberia Partner Solutions Architecture team organisation, based in Madrid, Spain and you would be working with key Portuguese and Spanish partners. This team owns the overall technical relationship between Partners and AWS and make recommendations on their development of AWS competencies, best practises on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency.

This team works hand by hand with Partners to understand the customer's business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology. To do this they collaborate with other teams such as account management, professional services, support or product teams.

In this role you will get to practice your creativity, linking technology to tangible solutions and educating AWS Partners about the art of the possible. You will have the opportunity to define or invent cutting edge reference architectures for a variety of use cases.

The Solutions Architecture team is a diverse group of technologists from a variety of backgrounds. Practical knowledge of the AWS platform is desired but not required, provided you have a sound technical foundation and a desire to learn.

Roles and Responsibilities
· As a Partner Solutions Architect, you will work directly with Partners to accelerate their projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.
· Hire, develop, and grow a senior team of Partner Solutions Architects.
· Serve as a key member of the team responsible for supporting the business.
· Help prioritize activities of the larger team; suggest the scope of customer engagements, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
· You will own the technical relationship with the Partners and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the Partners will shape the guidance you provide.
· Share the voice of the Partners to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform.
· Create and capture best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts).
· Evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
· Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your interests and your customer's outcomes.

Basic Qualifications
· Leadership and Management: track record of growing and leading technical teams required, including hiring, development/management, coaching, etc.
· Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant tech experience
· Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and in Spanish
· Fluent in Portuguese is a plus
· Experience of Software, Systems or Data Design
· Knowledge of a modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, Go, .Net, Java, etc.)
· Passion for technology and for learning

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working with/for system integrator or technology consulting companies and understand the business dynamics
· Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large scale and impactful IT projects - either on premises or in the cloud
· Working knowledge of cloud native architectures
· In depth working knowledge in a technology domain such as distributed internet-scale web or mobile applications, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, analytics, Machine Learning, enterprise workloads (SAP, VMware, Windows etc.), high-performance databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), complex networking implementations, highly secured workloads etc.
· Knowledge of modern data processing techniques and systems
· Experience working in a customer-facing role
· Experience collaborating effectively with internal or external stakeholder groups at multiple levels
· Experience working with C-suite customers
· AWS certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)
· Continued or advanced learning (Master, MBA, PhD or equivalent)
