The EU Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) Team is responsible for driving step-change improvements in the performance of Amazon’s European Operations from vendor through to customer. We work backwards from the customer and define new innovative solutions that raise the bar on customer experience and speed whilst constantly lower our cost of fulfilment and supporting our continued high growth.
This is a very exciting time to join the European ACES team given our fast growth and rapid change across the EU. The team work on the top strategic projects and opportunities across the European operations influencing business-critical decisions and taking the performance of the operations to the next level.
We are looking for an exceptionally talented software developer engineer (SDE) 2 to be part of the EU ACES team. The SDE2 will be part of an inter-disciplinary team, and will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions to support the implementation of strategic projects across the EU network. The scope of the solutions will range from providing guidance on process planning and execution to tracking process compliance. The SDE2 will work closely with the ACES project managers, and will be the main point of contact with other software development teams in Amazon. This position has the ability to significantly improve how deployments and scaling occurs at Amazon thus impacting the entire company as a whole.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
· 4+ years professional experience as a software developer and at least 2 as SDE2
· Strong fundamentals in algorithm design, UI, model-view-controller, data structures, problem solving, object oriented design and complexity analysis
· Proficiency designing and developing applications in Java, C, Python or similar programming languages
· Experience building complex, scalable, high-performance software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· Ownership and ability to deal with ambiguity

· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
· Knowledge of mathematical model
· Strong verbal and written communications skills
