IT Transformation is one of the key programmes of the huge transformation that Telefónica is performing to achieve the target of becoming a really Digital Telco and being able to bring the best of technology to people at all times.
The mission of the Global IT Transformation team is to build, coordinate and track an end to end view of the Telefónica IT Transformation agenda enabling proper steer, management and communication of the progress on the IT Transformation journey. This includes the IT key initiatives for the three Telefónica IT Strategic Pillars:
- Consolidate Commodity IT
- Simplify, Standardize and Transform Applications
- Empower Digital Telco
As part of the Global IT team this role will perform the following functions:
1.- Build an e2e view of Telefónica’s IT transformation initiatives
- Steer and manage the IT strategy execution via the Transformation initiatives and programs in OBs and TGT
- Build an e2e view of Telefónica’s IT transformation initiatives (for those initiatives under this role responsibility), effectively enforcing IT strategy rollout
- Act as global advisor when establishing direction
- Interact with key OB leadership stakeholders (e.g. CIO, project leaders) to build an aligned agenda based on best practices
- Support planning and challenge transformation plans based on best practices
2. Track and coordinate IT Transformation initiatives
- Track and coordinate with the OBs
- Follow up full-stack transformations being performed by every OB challenging the pace and boosting execution
- Provide transversal view of the full-stack initiatives, across OBs with same vendor
- Facilitate steering and communication of the progress of the IT transformation journey (e.g., tracking of transformation objectives)
- Act as a Global IT central contact point with the OBs to coordinate the Global IT team supporting the transformation
- Track and coordinate within Global IT
- Coordinate the Global IT team who is participating in Full Stack initiatives
- Maintain a list of open actions, due dates and responsible to support the initiatives
- Track and challenge Global IT open actions until finished
- Track and coordinate with TGT
- Track the TGT activities within the Full Stack projects (mainly Infrastructure activities)
- Track Corporate Applications projects lead by TGT and in the critical path for Full Stack
- Track and coordinate vendors:
- Interact with solution providers managers to escalate issues, follow-up open actions and resolve specific doubts on ad-hoc basis
- Maintain a Vendor list of open actions, due dates and responsible
- Track and challenge Vendor open actions until finished
- Measure the transformation initiatives impact on the strategic KPIs and communicate the progress and achievements in time and manner.
3.- Boost standardization and reutilization
- Industrialize Full Stack methodology, gathering and maintaining project methodology knowledge, including documents, templates, lessons learnt and best practices
- Consolidate, share and influence to deploy best practices and synergies
- Support Transformation initiatives Governance definition

Technical Competencies

1. Experience in managing large application development in large BSS projects

3. Proven experience in IT technology, Telco Processes, Telco BSS
4. Knowledge of BSS vendor solutions and implementation (ideally worked for a BSS solution vendor) in particular Amdocs, Huawei or Netcracker would be valuable
5. Knowledge of TM Forum Standards specifically eTOM and TAM
