Your role and work environment:

Senior Credit Risk Officer, Wholesale Banking Spain & Portugal (based in Madrid)

Your key responsibilities:

Responsible for assessment of credit risk proposals (Lending, Project Finance, Acquisition Finance, Real Estate Finance) within ING’s risk appetite. This includes the assessment of credit quality of customer (internal rating), analysis of business model, transaction structure, review of historical financials and business plan; and issuance of recommendations to Approval Mandates. Responsible for quality of the credit submission papers prepared by Front Office teams.

What are we looking for?

Professional experience: >8 years (equivalent to a senior VP / Director in FO) in Corporate Banking / Lending.

Technical Skills: 

Able to perform sound financial analysis of individual and consolidated accounts on large and mid-sized Corporates under different accounting principles (IAS, IFRS).

Sound knowledge of cash flow-based modelling and sensitivity analysis. 

Knowledge of Corporate Banking products and transaction structures (including term loans, revolving credit facilities, factoring, confirming, performance and financial bonds, letters of credit) as well as acquisition finance structures.

Sound understanding of different sectors / industries dynamics; key aspects of regulatory frameworks; assessment of customer competitive position within its industry.

Experience in reviewing all legal documentation for transactions alongside Front Office and Legal Advisors.

Understanding of key credit risk metrics: RWA, EAD, LDG, ECL, etc.

Fluent English (read, speak and write)

Ability to handle high workload under time pressure / stressful situations. Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment
